PRAYERS FOR THE EPIPHANY

O God alive and true,
that you have revealed the incarnation of your Word
with the appearance of a star
and you led the Magi to worship him
and to bring him generous gifts,
make that star of justice
do not set sunsets in the sky of our souls,
and the treasure to offer you consists
in the testimony of life.
Amen.

The splendor of your glory, O God, illuminate hearts
because, walking in the night of the world,
in the end we can get to your abode of light.
Amen.

Give us, Father, the living experience of the Lord Jesus
which revealed itself to the silent meditation of the Magi
and to the worship of all peoples;
and make all men find truth and salvation
in the illuminating encounter with him,
our Lord and our God.
Amen.

Also manifest to us, O almighty God,
the mystery of the Savior of the world,
revealed to the Magi under the guidance of the star,
and grow more and more in our spirit.
Amen.

PRAYER TO THE Wise Men

O most perfect worshipers of the newborn Messiah,
Holy Magi, true models of Christian courage,
that nothing appalled you about the arduous journey
and that readily at the sign of the star
followed the divine aspirations,
obtain for us all the grace that in your imitation
always have to go to Jesus Christ
and to worship him with lively faith when we enter his house,
and we continually offer him the gold of charity,
the incense of prayer, the myrrh of penance,
and we never decline from the path of holiness,
that Jesus taught us so well with his own example,
even before with their own lessons;
and do, o Holy Magi, that we can deserve from the Divine Redeemer
his chosen blessings here on earth
and then the possession of eternal glory.
So be it.
