Prayers of supplication to Saint Rita to ask for thanks

Always, O Lord, we your faithful people turn to you to praise you, thank you and beg you, but in a special way celebrating your saints we feel drawn to your temple and your altar to draw the help that only from you can to come.

Welcome today with paternal benevolence all of us who with joy and trust turn to you in this celebration in honor of Saint Rita from whose goodness we feel attracted and protected.

Lord, you know that his example, his high virtues and his powerful intercession push us to imitation, fervor and grace. You also know how late we are to believe in your great love for us and how easily we fail to testify to you of our love and gratitude. Here is our extreme poverty on which we invoke your kindness and mercy!

The holiness of your faithful servants and our caring brothers and sisters who have shown us the way of holiness supports and encourages us. Now we interpose their intercession with you because they, as they were on earth, have always shown themselves from heaven to be sensitive and attentive to the needs of the weak and suffering: welcome our supplications to present them to you.

We intend to pray to you

for all believers who make up your holy Church
Because they are faithful to the Gospel, united in the bond of brotherhood, obedient to the magisterium of the shepherds;

for priestly and religious vocations
For young people to accept the invitation to serve Christ and their brothers with generosity and zeal;

for families
Because they live the sanctity of marriage;

for the young people
Because they educate themselves in the school of faith, truth and justice;

for those who work in the apostolate
So that they may be granted the gift of the Holy Spirit to be worthy servants of your word;

for those far from faith and morals,
Because they are helped to recognize the error and follow the truth;

for the sick and suffering in body and spirit
So that they may unite their sufferings with those of Christ and find relief in your goodness and in the help of their brothers;

for workers
To enrich the daily toil with Christian experience;

for spouses expecting children
Because you grant them the consolation of a happy fatherhood;

for children
Because they are kept in their innocence and grow in health and grace;

for the elderly
Why don't they suffer loneliness and abandonment;

for the dying
Because they are comforted by Christian certainty;

for all the dead
To obtain complete purification for the Sacrifice of Christ and the prayers of the good.

O 'Santa Rita,
we would like to have your faith, your hope and your charity
to present our prayers more worthy.
We trust that you will join us at this time to make our supplication more effective.

O Heavenly Father, moved by the Holy Spirit who cries out to you in you, with lively faith and sincere humility, we ask you to grant us for the intercession of Saint Rita and for the infinite merits of Jesus Christ our Lord.
