This Statue of the Blessed Virgin weeps blood (VIDEO)

In 'summer of 2020, a 200-year-old Italian statue was damaged by a tourist trying to take a selfie.

A few days later, however, this same statue took on further notoriety. This is the Virgin Mary, located in Piazza Paolino Arnesano, in the municipality of Carmarthenin Puglia. Built in 1943, some have seen tears with a reddish, blood-like color descend from the statue.

Secondo Times Now News, it was a boy who first noticed the phenomenon as he passed the statue. Word spread quickly and many people went there to see the tears of the Virgin Mary with their own eyes.

Naturally the event also questioned the religious community, perplexed about the reasons for this apparition. Riccardo Calabrese, a priest of the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate in Rome, told the Italian media: "I cannot give an objective judgment on the event that took place because there is no evidence that can make us say with certainty that it was a miracle or the effect of excessive heat these days or a joke ”.

The priest added that he was committed in seeing people approach the church thanks to the statue: “The only certain thing is that I saw another miracle. I saw children, young people, adults and the elderly staying in this place, a symbol of Mary's blessing. Together they raised their eyes and looked at the face of Our Lady […] The most beautiful miracle is to have felt a united community around Mary ”.
