This story demonstrates the supernatural power of Jesus' name

On his website the priest Dwight Longenecker told the story of how another religious, father Roger, he recalled that the name of Christ is more powerful than one might think.

"In the name of Jesus!"

Father Roger, a man of just over 1 meter and 50 centimeters, was once in a psychiatric hospital. His goal was to exorcise and spiritually care for patients.

At one point, turning the corner, he found a man over 1 meter and 80 centimeters tall running towards him with a knife, yelling at him.

The priest reacted like this: he stood still, raised his arm and shouted: "In the name of Jesus, drop the knife!".

The perplexed man stopped, dropped the knife, turned and walked away in silence.

The moral of the story

Father Dwight took the opportunity to remind us of something we tend not to pay attention to: the name of Christ is powerful.

This story “reminds us that the name of Jesus has power in the spiritual kingdom. We repeat the holy name in the center of the our prayer of the Rosary and we should do it with a pause and a bowed head. This is the heart of prayer: an invocation of His Holy Name ”.

“Remember that the name 'Jesus' means 'Savior', so call Him when you need to be saved! ”, continued the priest.

"It was through the name of Jesus that the apostles obeyed Christ's command to assume authority over the demons and it is through the holy name of Jesus that we prevail in spiritual warfare today," he concluded.
