Hurricane, Utah, USA. A young girl of 17, Taylor Goodridge died on December 20 last in her boarding school. This is because none of the school officials intervened to save her. Sounds like a horror movie but it really happened. One wonders, but why no one has intervened and why?

In this American school all the staff had been trained to assume that the boys' illnesses could be lies.

Very often, it happens that children feign illness to miss school, to avoid a test or perhaps because they are not prepared enough. Sometimes, they don't even tell their parents and just hang around without even showing up at the school.

All of this is true, but it doesn't happen with all boys without distinction. And it certainly shouldn't lead to ignoring requests for help by classifying them as "lies". Instead, unfortunately, that's exactly what happened in this Hurricane institution.

Taylor had been ill on several occasions, vomiting frequently and complaining of severe stomach pains. Her response to her discomfort was to rest and take an aspirin. No medical examinations, no one who bothered to notify the parents to check the situation.

It had also happened in the evening, when the girl was in her room; terrible stomach cramps that wouldn't go away with anything. In class, she had vomited and then she collapsed in a faint. No reaction from school staff.

It was enough to have her visited by a doctor off campus to be saved. The Diamond Ranch Academy, has the reputation of being "a therapeutic college". An institute, where kids are helped to get out of psychological problems such as depression and anger management.

Some staff members anonymously stated that poor Taylor was even denied a thermometer during the night shifts.

Also on the basis of anonymous statements, it was found that all staff had been trained to assume that the boys were lying to avoid doing their homework.

Taylor's father, Mr. Goodridge, denounced the institute and now all investigations are underway to ascertain responsibility, even if the school director defends himself by stating that many of the allegations made by members of the staff are false. A sad story that unfortunately cost the life of a 17-year-old girl.
