Reflect today on the power that Jesus has and to use it for your good

When Jesus arrived at the official's house and saw the flute players and the crowd making confusion, he said, "Go away! The girl is not dead but sleeping. "And they ridiculed him. When the crowd was put out, he came and took her by the hand, and the girl stood up. And the news of this spread throughout that land. Matthew 9: 23-26

Jesus performed many miracles. He has overwhelmed the laws of nature several times. In this Gospel passage, overcome death by bringing this child back to life. And he does it in such a way that it seems to be quite normal and easy for him.

It is insightful to reflect on Jesus' approach to the miracles he performed. Many were amazed and shocked by its miraculous power. But it seems that Jesus does it as a normal part of his day. He doesn't care much about it, and in fact he often tells people to keep quiet about his miracles.

One obvious thing this reveals to us is that Jesus has complete power over the physical world and all the laws of nature. In this story we are reminded that he is the Creator of the Universe and the source of all that is. If he can create all things simply by wanting to, he can easily recreate and transform the laws of nature with his will.

Understanding the full truth of his complete authority over nature should also give us confidence in his complete authority over the spirit world and all that constitutes our life. It can do everything and it can do everything easily.

If we can get to a deep faith in his almighty power, and even get a clear understanding of His perfect love and our perfect knowledge of us, we will be able to trust Him on a level that we never knew possible. Why should we not completely trust Him who can do all things and love us perfectly? Why should we not trust Him who knows everything about us and only wants our good? We must trust in him! It is worthy of that trust and our trust will unleash its almighty power in our lives.

Think about two things today. First of all do you understand the depth of its power? Second, do you know that his love compels him to use that power for your sake? Knowing and believing in these truths will change your life and allow him to perform miracles of grace.

Lord, I believe in your absolute authority over all things and your complete authority over my life. Help me trust you and trust your love for me. Jesus, I trust you.
