Reflect today on your commitment to the Father's will in your life

Some Pharisees went to Jesus and said: "Go away, leave this area because Herod wants to kill you". He replied, "Go and tell that fox, 'Look! I cast out demons and heal today and tomorrow, and on the third day I fulfill my purpose." "Luke 13: 31-32

What an interesting exchange this was between Jesus and some Pharisees. It is interesting to observe both the action of the Pharisees and that of Jesus.

One might wonder why the Pharisees spoke to Jesus in this way, warning him of Herod's intentions. Were they worried about Jesus and, therefore, were they trying to help him? Probably not. Instead, we know that the majority of the Pharisees were jealous and envious of Jesus. In this case, it seems that they were warning Jesus of Herod's wrath as a way to try to intimidate him and leave their district. Of course, Jesus was not intimidated.

Sometimes we experience the same thing. Sometimes we can have someone come to tell us gossip about us with the excuse of trying to help us, when in reality it is a subtle way of intimidating us in order to fill us with fear or anxiety.

The key is to react only in the way Jesus did in the face of foolishness and malice. Jesus did not give in to intimidation. He was not at all worried about Herod's malice. Rather, he responded in a way that he said to the Pharisees, in a sense: “Don't waste your time trying to fill me with fear or anxiety. I am doing the works of my Father and that is all I should worry about ”.

What is it that bothers you in life? What are you intimidated by? Do you allow other people's opinions, malice or gossip to bring you down? The only thing we should worry about is doing the will of the Father in Heaven. When we do His will confidently, we will also have the wisdom and courage we need to scold all the deceptions and stupid intimidation in our life.

Reflect today on your commitment to the Father's will in your life. Are you fulfilling his will? If so, do you find that some people come and try to discourage you? Strive to have the same confidence as Jesus and stay focused on the mission God has given you.

Lord, I trust in Your divine will. I trust in the plan you have prepared for me and refuse to be influenced or intimidated by the foolishness and malice of others. Give me courage and wisdom to keep my eyes on You in everything. Jesus I believe in you.
