St. Francis of Assisi announces to Carlo Acutis's mother the importance that her son would have for the church

This story sees Antonia Salzano, the mother of carlo acutis, which recounts the premonition in a dream of St. Francis of Assisi and the fate of his son.

St. Francis of Assisi

In the book "My son's secret” Antonia recounts the dream of the night between 3 and 4 October 2006. When Acutis began to feel the first signs of the disease and to feel unwell, his mother slept with him. That night he dreamed that he was in church with San Francesco d'Assisi. When she looked up at the ceiling, she noticed the image of him his son. At that moment St. Francis looked at her and announced that Carlo would become important for the church.

He woke up and thinking about the dream he understood that it could be a prophecy. Probably his son would have fulfilled his dream of becoming priest.

The death of Carlo Acutis

The following night, before falling asleep next to his son, he recited the Rosary. While half asleep she heard a voice repeating to her "Charles dies“, but gave it no importance and continued to sleep. Saturday 7 October Carlo felt ill and was hospitalized at the Clinic of the brands of Monza. Here he was diagnosed promyelocytic leukemia. The head physician bluntly explained to him that it was a serious disease and that the cancer cells would proliferate quickly. Carlo's case was desperate.

When they communicated it to Carlo with a smile he told his mother that the Lord had given him a wake up call. In the meantime, the mother was thinking about the dream and to San Francesco, the saint so adored by his son. Carlo loved to retire to places sacred to San Francesco to enjoy the silence. In that dream, St. Francis had announced to Antonia precisely that the attainment of peace by Charles would coincide with his premature death and his rapid ascent to the altars of heaven.
