St. Gabriel and the miracle of healing by Lorella Colangelo

San Gabriele dell'Addolorata is a highly venerated saint in the Catholic tradition, especially in Italy, where he is the patron saint of the city of Isola del Gran Sasso, in Abruzzo. The figure of him is linked to some miracles, including that of the healing of Lorella Colangelo.

Lorella has been affected since she was a child by leukoencephalitis, an incurable disease at the material time. The disease was progressive and around the age of 10 it degenerated to such an extent that he lost the use of his legs.

In June 1975 she was admitted to theAncona hospital where she was diagnosed with the disease. Lorella was assisted by her aunt. One day, when all the guests with whom the little girl shared the room had gone away to attend holy mass, an image appeared to Lorella in a black tunic, with a heart-shaped coat of arms, sandals and a cloak, surrounded from so much light.

Lorella recognized immediately San Gabriel. The saint with a smile told him that she would be healed if she went to him and fell asleep on his grave.

For a week, the little girl did not speak to anyone about the incident, not even her aunt. The saint continued to appear to him every night and to make him the same invitation.
