Petition to Our Lady of Carmel to be recited today to ask for a grace

O glorious Virgin Mary, mother and decoration of Mount Carmel that your goodness has chosen as a place of your particular benevolence, on this solemn day that recalls your maternal tenderness for those who piously wear the holy Scapular, we raise to you the most ardent prayers, and with confidence of children we implore your patronage.

See, O most holy Virgin, how many temporal and spiritual dangers from all sides hold us: take pity on us. The title with which we celebrate you today recalls the place chosen by God to be reconciled with his people when he repented wanted to return to him. From Carmel, in fact, the sacrifice came up at the hands of the prophet Elijah, which after a long drought got the restorative rain, a sign of God's restored benevolence: the holy prophet announced it with joy when he saw a white cloud rise from the sea which soon covered the sky. In that little cloud, or immaculate Virgin, your Carmelite children have recognized you as an immaculate sort of sinful humanity from the sea and who in Christ have given us an abundance of all good. On this solemn day, be a new source of graces and blessings for us. Hello, Regina ...

To show us even more your affection, O our very loving mother, you recognize as a symbol of our filial devotion the little dress we wear in your honor and that you consider as your garment and sign of your benevolence.

Thank you, O Maria for your scapular. How many times, however, have we made little account of it; how many times have we unworthily worn that dress which was to be a symbol and a call to your virtues for us!

But forgive us, O our loving and patient mother! And make sure that your holy Scapular is defended against the enemies of the soul, recalling the thought of you, and of your love, in the moment of temptation and danger.

O our sweetest mother, on this day that remembers your continuous goodness towards us who live the spirituality of Carmel, moved and trusting we repeat the prayer that the Order has consecrated to you for centuries: Fiore del Carmelo, prodigious vine, splendor of heaven: Virgin Mother, meek and sweet, protect us your children who propose to climb the mystical mountain of virtue with you, to reach eternal bliss with you! Hello, Regina ...

Your love for the beloved children clothed with your Scapular is great, O Mary. Not happy to help them to live in order to avoid the eternal fire, you also take care to shorten the penalties of purgatory for them, to speed up entry into paradise.

This is a grace, o Maria, who leads a long series of graces, and truly worthy of a merciful mother, as you are.

And here: as Queen of purgatory you can mitigate the pains of those souls, still kept away from the enjoyment of God. Have mercy therefore, O Mary, of those blessed souls. On this beautiful day, reveal the power of your maternal intercession to them.

We beg you, oh pure Virgin, for the souls of our loved ones and for all those who in life were ascribed to his Scapular and endeavored to carry him piously. By them you obtain that, purified by the blood of Jesus, they are admitted to eternal happiness as soon as possible.

And we pray for you too! For the last moments of our earthly life: assist us pitifully and vain the attempts of the infernal enemy. Take us by the hand, and do not leave us until you see us close to you in heaven, eternally saved. Hello, Regina ...

But many and many thanks we would like to ask you again, O our sweet mother! On this day, which our fathers dedicated to gratitude for you, we beg you to benefit again. Impetrate the grace of never staining our soul with grave guilt, which has cost so much pain and pain to your divine Son. Free us from the evils of body and spirit: and if they are useful to our spiritual life, grant us also the other graces of a temporal order that we have in mind to ask you for us and for our loved ones. You can fulfill our requests: and we are confident that you will grant them in the measure of your love, for the love with which you love your Son Jesus, and we, who have been entrusted to you as children.

And now bless all, O mother of the Church, decoration of Carmel. Bless the Supreme Pontiff, who in the name of Jesus guides the people of God, pilgrims on earth: grant them the joy of finding a prompt and filial response to all his initiatives. Bless the Bishops, our Pastors, and the other priests. Support with particular grace those who zeal your devotion, especially in proposing your Scapular as a symbol and incentive to imitate your virtues.

Bless the poor sinners, because they too are your children: in their life there has certainly been a moment of tenderness for you and of nostalgia for the grace of God: help them find their way back to Christ the Savior and the Church that brings them he waits to reconcile them to the Father.

Finally, bless the souls of purgatory: release those who have been devoted to you with concern. Bless all your children, O our sovereign comforter. Be with us in joy and sadness, in life and in death: and the hymn of thanksgiving and praise that we raise on earth, may we be granted, through your intercession, to continue it in heaven to you and your Son Jesus up, which lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen. Ave Maria…
