Tears on the face of the Virgin of Sorrows in Mexico: there is a cry of miracle and the church intervenes

Today we will tell you the story of an event that happened in Mexico, where the statue of the Virgin Mary began to pour Tears, under the astonished gaze of the faithful.

As happens with any human being, when you cry eyes become red and the face is streaked with tears. What is astonishing, however, is that the red eyes and tears come from a statue, renamed after the incident, the Weeping Madonna.

The first to see the tears of the Madonna, in one chapel packed with people was a child of just 9 years old. The miraculous event occurred in Mexico, in the chapel of community of El Chanal. Hundreds of faithful were present at the event, many of whom, armed with cell phones, immortalized the scene and posted the images on social media.

The tears of the Sorrowful Virgin

The city of Colima has always been a victim of violent events. In the 2022 has reached the sad record of 601 murders in a population of 330 thousand people. For this reason it was believed to be a miracle and a sign of peace in the face of so much violence. There chapel of the alleged miracle belongs to the  jurisdiction of the Sanctuary of Saint John Paul II and the local diocese expressed its opinion on the facts through the mouth of Father Gerardo López Herrera, who claims that it is not a miracle at all.

Father López Herrera then explains what happened, saying that the image that shed tears is the Virgin of Sorrows, a statue on which, when it was built, the author placed some silicone tears.

Evidently, the local people who had shouted about a miracle and distributed the news on social media, wanted to believe in something beautiful and grandiose that would give hope to the population and made them feel protected and loved. A sign of the closeness of the Virgin Mary. Unfortunately the explanation is much more earthly and this time it is not a question miracle.
