“Thank you Jesus, take me too”, married for 70 years, they die on the same day

Almost a lifetime together and they died on the same day.

James e Wanda, he 94 and she 96, were guests of the Concord Care Center, a nursing home where they lived together in North Carolina, In the USA.

Both died on the same day in the wee hours of the morning, the couple's daughter said. Candy Engstler, to local news.

At 4 am Wanda died and a phone call alerted Candy and the other sister that they wanted to console their father for the loss.

“She folded her hands towards both on each side and said, 'Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for bringing it and please take me,” said the daughter.

Then, around 7 am, both were notified of James' death, as he had asked the Lord a few hours after the death of his beloved.

“At around 7 am, I got the call that he was dead too,” Candy added.

Wanda struggled with Alzheimer's while she was alive and James suffered from various physical problems. The loss of both on the same day, although sad, was not so painful for the young woman knowing that they would both be with God in eternity.

“He allowed both of us to leave on the same day. I think it was time for both of us. The Lord has called them in a wonderful way, so I'll hold on to that, ”he explained.

Married since 1948 in the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Minnesota, the woman was a nurse for several years and her husband was a US Marine who participated in World War II.
