The Madonna of Nocera appeared to a blind peasant girl and told her "Dig under that oak, find my image" and miraculously regained her sight

Today we will tell you the story of the apparition of the Madonna of Nocera superior to a seer. One day while the visionary was resting peacefully under an oak tree, her Madonna appeared to her telling her to invite the population to dig under that oak tree and promising them that they would find her image of her. The visionary, after having listened carefully to Maria's instructions, was initially undecided whether or not to spread her message for fear of people's reaction. She therefore decides to remain silent and keep the secret.

Subsequently, however, the woman receives a second viewing. The oak tree is surrounded by tongues of fire and a fragrant cloud forms above it. The woman also sees a soldier facing a monstrous snake near the oak tree. The serpente sows terror among people, but the Madonna, invoked by the woman, kills the reptile eliminating the danger. Having overcome her fear, the visionary decides to go to her fellow citizens and tell them what happened, convincing them to dig under the oak.

Unfortunately, the only thing they find are the remains of an ancient cistern. Disappointed people start making fun of the seer. After a few years, the woman has another vision of the Madonna, who orders her to continue inviting the inhabitants to dig under the cistern. As proof of her apparition, Our Lady leaves a Precious stone detached from its ring. At the end of the vision, however, the woman becomes blind.

Faced with this situation, citizens try compassion and they decide to start digging again. They first find the precious stone and then an ancient Byzantine icon depicting itand Mary with the Child. After this event, the woman, now known as She who is dear to Mary, miraculously recovers his sight.

The icon is placed in a chapel specially built and consecrated by Pope Nicholas II in 1061. and is given the title of Mater Domini, Mother of the Lord and the devotion towards her constantly grows thanks to the numerous Miracles that occur, including healings of the blind, obsessed, paralytic and even the resurrection of the dead.
