Is the body imprinted on the Holy Shroud the true image of merciful Jesus?

Studies continue on Holy Shroud in order to ascertain with even greater clarity that this is the true image of Christ. Today we will tell you about these studies and the discovery of the similarity with the image of Merciful Jesus.

The Holy Shroud and Merciful Jesus

One of these studies brought to light a striking similarity between the image on the Shroud and that of Merciful Jesus. This discovery convinced even those who were still skeptical about the authenticity of the Holy Shroud and the veracity of the man wrapped inside it.

In last centuries numerous studies have been carried out on sacred linen using increasingly sophisticated techniques. One such study attempted to find a similarity between the image of Jesus of Divine Mercy and the man wrapped in the Shroud. The painting of Merciful Jesus was created by the Polish painter Eugeniusz Kazimirowski at the request of Saint Faustina Kowalska.

A professor of Anthropology of Visual Representation at the University of Gdańsk decided to investigate this similarity further. The first to notice this resemblance was another priest, Father Serafin Mikhailenko.

Professor Treppa, through careful observation of the two images and a comparison with cutting-edge techniques, noticed a complete convergence of facial features such as the eyebrows, nose, cheekbones, jaw, upper and lower lip, and chin.

A comparison three-dimensional it was also carried out with Professor Mignero's model used in 2002 to measure the Shroud. Not only the linen that covered the body of Jesus, but also the shroud that covered his face, preserved in the cathedral of San Salvador in Oviedo, in Spain, show the imprint of the face of Jesus.

The anthropologist superimposed the three images and noticed that the eight points facial features matched perfectly. The images match perfectly, proving that the Sir Jesus was really wrapped in the Shroud and that the man present in the painting is the same man present on the Shroud.
