In the province of Granata and more precisely in the municipality of Chauchina, there is Nostra Signora del Biancospino. This Madonna in the image he wears a blue robe and has a Rosary crown in his hands.

Virgin Mary

Today we tell you the incredible story of rosaria, a Spanish woman, born on April 25, 1839. Rosaria married at 20 and had 3 children. Unfortunately for her she was widowed very early and she had to raise the boys by herself. She tried to do her best by educating them in a Christian way to prayers and works of charity.

Rosaria and her children lived in one farmhouse in the village of Granada, as caretakers. One sad day, one of his sons came killed by a man who sought refuge in his own home.

Rosaria believed that what happened was a test to which she was subjected by God. Despite the pain, she did not feel like bringing the man to justice and with simple words he pardon, just as the Virgin did when she forgave her son's executioners on Calvary.

Our Lady of Sorrows

The assassin, although Rosaria didn't report him, was soon captured. At that point the woman thought of the pain of that man's mother and she prayed that she would not be called to witness. His prayer was answered. In fact, eight days before testifying, the man died, after having repented of the crime committed.

In 1903 Rosaria did became seriously ill. Cancerous ulcers they were practically devouring his leg. Because of complaints about the suffering she was going through, the landlady for whom she worked as a maid kicked her out.

The apparition of the Sorrowful Virgin

Il April 9, 1906, Rosario went as every day to a bush, where he tried to wash and bandage his sores as best he could. That day in that place, he met a woman dressed in mourning with a rosary in her hand who offered to disinfect her wounds. In return he asked her to accompany her to the cemetery.

Rosaria accepts and the two women walk towards the cemetery. During the journey, however, the woman manages to walk better and better. Once they arrive at the place, the two women kneel down and begin to recite the Rosary, until exhausted, Rosaria falls asleep. Upon her awakening, her sores were completely gone, as was the woman in black.

Upset, she runs into the city to tell what happened and people immediately understand that the woman was there Virgin of Sorrows. Near the bush where the meeting took place, a chapel was built and many people began to offer money to Rosaria to help her. She always refused.

Years later, Rosaria's son hears a request from the statue of the Madonna. She asked to be taken to Chauchina. The man accepts the requests and donates it to the town's shrine. When Rosaria sees her, he recognizes the woman who had rescued her.
