The official prayer of St. Joseph

The official prayer of San Giuseppe - To you, blessed Joseph (To you, blessed Ioseph) - was composed by Pope Leo XIII in his encyclical of 1889, Whom Pluries.

The Holy Father asked that this prayer be added to the end of the Rosary especially in the month of October, the month of the Holy Rosary. This prayer is enriched by a partial indulgence.

To you, o blessed Joseph (To you, blessed Ioseph)

To you, O blessed Joseph, we have recourse in our trial, and we also confidently invoke your patronage, after that of your most holy Bride. For that charity which clasped you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and for the paternal love with which you surrounded the child Jesus, look, we beg you, with kindness, the inheritance that Jesus Christ acquired with his Blood, and help us with your power and with your help in our needs.

why pray

Protect, O most provident Guardian of the divine Family, the chosen offspring of Jesus Christ; remove from us, oh most loving Father, every plague of errors and vices; assist us propitiously from heaven in this struggle with the power of darkness, O our strongest protector; and as you once saved the child Jesus from death, so now you defend the holy Church of God from the snares of enemies and from all adversities, and protect each of us with your continuous patronage, so that with your example and your help we can live holy, to die piously and attain eternal bliss in heaven.

Amen.
