Born at just 21 weeks: what the record-breaking newborn who miraculously survived looks like today

Sometimes miracles happen and remind us of how amazing life is. Richard he is a baby who came into the world at just 21 weeks and survived against all odds.

Il June 5, 2020 in Minneapolis a woman gives birth in the sun 21 weeks of gestation 131 days before the birth date. The doctors who saw the child being born absolutely did not believe that he would survive, in fact, they went too far, telling the parents that he wouldn't have made it.

Babies born at the twenty-first week of pregnancy are considered extremely premature and present a number of significant challenges and risks. The normal gestational period is approx 40 weeks, and a fetus's lungs and other vital organs continue to develop throughout the entire pregnancy. At 21 weeks, many of the organs they may not be mature enough to support life outside the womb.

Richard, however, did not want to give up living and the 5 June 2021, against all odds he celebrated his first birthday.

Before giving birth to his mother Beth, was hospitalized urgently for complications and the doctors were forced to induce the birth, even though it was too early. Furthermore, they did everything to ensure that the little one was saved, even though he was born in adverse conditions.

After 6 months Richard is discharged and returns home

As if the Covid pandemic period which forced the parents to stay away from them and the little one to fight alone, without the warmth and love of his mother and father. Despite this, the little super hero held on for a long time 6 months, fighting like a lion and winning his battle with life.

Once discharged he was out of danger and returned to property he had to wear the oxygen goggles still for a while'. But for him, accustomed to everything, it wasn't a problem at all. The baby record most premature in the world he kept it until another little hero decided to be born 24 hours before him.
