The world needs love and Jesus is ready to give it to him, why is he hiding among the poor and the most needy?

According to Jean Vanier, Jesus he is the figure the world is waiting for, the savior who will give meaning to life. We live in a world full of despair, pain and sadness with large gaps between rich and poor in many nations, civil wars, poverty and unrest.

Poor

Even in rich countries, there is still a gap between rich and poor. In this general chaos, young people, in particular, are the ones who have the most need a meaning for their life. According to Vanier, young people don't just want to know what is right or wrong, they want to know if they are loved.

The world needs love and Jesus is ready to give it to them

And Jesus himself is the one who comes to tell us "I love you"and "you are important to me“, but it does not come with power or glory. He emptied himself and became small, humble and poor. Even though he performed miracles, he feared that people would see him as a powerful person who did great things rather than as a being seeking communion. Jesus is the one who makes himself small and hides in the poor, in the humble, in the weak, in the dying and the sick because it is precisely these people who are looking for love. The mystery of Jesus is love.

faithful

Jesus is meek and humble of heart, who bends over us as a source of mercy. He just desires love and give his heart and asks us to offer our hearts and receive the mystery of God's love. For Vanier, the world needs a humble savior to look at and recognize, who gives the love we need so much.
