Theft in the Church, the Bishop turns to the authors: "Convert"

“Have a moment of reflection on your ignoble deed, so that you can realize the perpetuated damage and repent and convert”.

This was stated by the bishop of the diocese of Cassano allo Ionio, Msgr. Francesco Savino, addressing the perpetrators of the theft perpetrated in recent days in the "Holy Family" church a Villapiana Lidoin Calabria.

The thieves have emptied three votive candlesticks which contained the offerings of the faithful taking possession of approx 500 €. Bishop Savino, engaged in Reggio Calabria with the other Calabrian Bishops, upon hearing the news, expressed his closeness and solidarity to the parish priest of the Holy Family, Don Nicola DeLuca, and to the entire parish community, which "feels hurt by this theft, also because - the prelate argued - every day makes sacrifices to be close to the most fragile and impoverished people".

“If they - underlined the bishop referring to the perpetrators of the theft - had turned to the parish priest or the Diocese they would have had an answer to their needs. Never give in to illegality, to these forms of true violence that subtract the proceeds of the sacrifices of an entire parish community ".
