This story has moved the web and it is proof that love still exists. Virginia and Tommy, married since 69 years old, they remained united even during their illness, during their hospitalization. Born in Tennessee, they met as teenagers in Dobyns-Bennett High School. In 1954 they got married and have never separated since. Even when Tommy left for the military service, Virginia followed him.

When they moved to Memphis, they had 2 children, Caren and Greg. In life they managed to create, thanks to mutual support and complicity, the family transport company, the Distribution and Transportation Services.

As Tommy grows older, he becomes ill with Alzheimer and Virginia always remains by his side, even when he is hospitalized in thePalliative Care Unit at Vanderbilt, when his life was now coming to an end. Fate would have it that at the same time, Virginia was admitted to the same hospital for a fall.

When the hospital learned about their history, they placed them in 2 beds next to each other. A few days before the 69th anniversary Tommy passed away and 9 days afterwards, Virginia joined him. Not even death was able to separate this great love.
