Look for a needle in a haystack. Indeed, even more difficult. A 46-year-old American, Gerard Marino, had lost themiraculous medal'which he always wore around his neck while on vacation with his wife Katie and their five daughters on a beach a Naplesin Florida, In United States of America.

As told by the American, the medal was a gift from the mother. Parents were devoted to the Our Lady of Grace and they consecrated their relationship to her when they were together. With the arrival of 17 children, they repeated the consecration of the family to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Gerard is the 15th child and was named in honor of São Geraldo.

Ten years ago Gerard lost his medal while swimming in the sea but one of his daughters found the piece in the sand. Five years later, as he was about to take his cell phone to photograph a dolphin, the chain broke and, once again, the medal disappeared in the water. Gerard was very upset because his mother had recently died and the object was a memory of him.

Despite being a weekend, the American got contact from a man who had a metal detector, asking for his help.

While the man and Gerard searched for the medal with the help of the equipment, Katie and her daughters went to mass and prayed to God that Gerard would be able to find the medal. “My youngest daughter prayed to Our Lady a lot,” said Katie.

Less than four hours after he disappeared, the medal reappeared. “I saw him stop, kneel and pull her out of the water. He was overwhelmed with emotion, ”recalled his wife.

“It has been very meaningful for my children to witness the power of prayer and how God and our Blessed Mother are present in the small details of our daily life,” added Katie.

Everyone gathered on the beach and said a prayer of thanks to God.
