Religious tourism: increasingly popular sacred destinations in Italy

When traveling, the act of Rebirth is experienced in a much more concrete way. We are faced with completely new situations, the day passes more slowly and, in most cases, we do not understand the language that others speak. This is exactly what happens to a newborn baby from the womb. Sanctuaries, convents, churches, sacred places and abbeys are just some of the attractions that characterize religious tourism which is a form of tourism that has as its main objective the faith and therefore the visit to religious places but also the appreciation of artistic and cultural beauty . More and more people are choosing to undertake religious journeys that are paths made in a conscious way. These are journeys that exclude frantic races with overcrowded itineraries but which prioritize the pleasure of discovery, filling the heart with precious memories and intense emotions to live and share.

Often we end up using the term pilgrimage and religious tourism as synonyms but, unlike religious travel, pilgrimage is a journey carried out only for a spiritual search to a place that is considered sacred. The motivations of the tourist can be summarized with the desire for fun, escape, culture. Italy is a country rich in tradition and history, especially as regards the Catholic religion. Every year millions of Italians travel to visit the most prestigious destinations.
We remember for example: Assisi, a town that is known for being the land of San Francesco; Rome, the Eternal City, the Vatican City and its numerous basilicas; Venice, which in addition to the presence of beautiful canals is famous for the presence of numerous churches; Florence, famous for the Duomo and more ...
Finally we mention San Giovanni Rotondo in the province of Foggia in Puglia, Loreto di Ancona, a place of worship for the house of Mary and the sanctuary of the Madonna di Loreto. And again Milan with the Santa Maria delle Grazie.
…… you will see that everything will be wonderful, when you reach the end of your pilgrimage, and it will be so also in the eyes of him who never saw beauty …….
