Killed by Islamic terrorists because he is a Christian, now his children are at risk

Nabil Habashy Salama was assassinated on April 18 last in Egypt from Stato islamico (IS). His execution was filmed and broadcast on Telegram.

The victim was a 62-year-old Coptic Christian, kidnapped over 6 months ago from his village of Bir-Al-Abd, in North of Sinai, by 3 armed men.

The terrorists accused him of financing the only church in the locality. His children then received a ransom request by telephone for 2 million Egyptian pounds (105.800 euros), then 5 million pounds (264.500 euros) for his release.

For the kidnappers it was not a ransom but a Jizya, the tax payable by non-Muslims living in Islamic lands. A sum claimed for all the Christians of the village. Nabil's sons could not collect the money and their father was killed. Today they are themselves in danger.

On the advice of the local police, who cannot guarantee their safety, Peter, fady e Marina they had to leave everything behind and flee. But they continue to receive death threats by telephone: "We know where you are, we know everything about you."

These are the messages that Peter, Fady and Marina receive on a daily basis. They know they are being watched. Just like it already happened with their parent.

Coptic Christians, who live scattered throughout the North Sinai region, are regularly targeted.
