The miracle of the Madonna della Rocca

One of the graces linked to the Madonna della Rocca dates back to 1725. Pier Francesco, 12 years old at the time, tries to detach, together with his friend, a huge boulder leaning against the wall. However, as the rock falls, it crushes the boy.

As soon as he realizes what has happened, the family runs to try to free him. Raising the rock, all those present are shocked when they realize that Pier Francesco is miraculously unharmed. Even today in that spot there is a votive tablet, which bears witness to what happened.

The origin of the statue of the Madonna della Rocca, with the Child Jesus in her arms and dressed in precious fabrics, protected in a niche of gilded wood and crystal, is still unknown.
