A very powerful prayer: visit to Jesus Crucified with the Holy Spirit

O our most compassionate Salvator, who, in order to save us from eternal death and to operate a copious Redemption, abandoned yourselves entirely to the will of the Eternal Love, so that he might do with you what he liked best: who therefore made you the Love? Ah, good Jesus, the cross tells me so, your wounds, the scourges, the thorns, the nails tell me! ... Yes, the Love, after having clothed you with mortal flesh in the Incarnation, after having led you to Bethlehem, to the Desert, to the Cenacle, to Gethsema-ni, to the Courts, after having filled you with obbrobri, he finally takes you to Calvary, stretches you on the scaffold of the Cross, raises you on that infamous trunk in the presence of the earth and Heaven ... makes you drink in bitter and slow sips the glass of pain up to the scum and then? And then to entrap us from the nails of Satan, he removes the Ani-but blessed by the Penzo-lante Body from the gallows, he makes you die! ... and exulting in so much victory, he proclaims the great work completed: that is, repaired the honor of God, sin canceled, Paradise opened, and man saved! Oh, how much love has ever been able on You, oh my Jesus! But if he has been able to so much above You, why on earth can he so little above me? and can it be so shortly even after such marked benefits? Where are the generous sacrifices, the acceptable offerings that I present to you, oh Jesus, as a holocaust of thanksgiving? What is my docility in letting your Love lead me behind you along the way of the Cross? Oh, how many resistances to that Love that You, or Jesus, for me followed with so much generosity, also for a way of blood! And will I have the heart to look at the image of You Crucifix? And am I not ashamed of my hardness and ingratitude? You, Jesus, innocent and most holy, returned to Heaven by a way strewn with thistles and thorns; and I would like to go there by a street strewn with roses ... I who have sinned, and I have sinned so much! Oh, good Jesus, tell your Eternal Love to change my heart. My heart is too narrow, fearful and stingy with sacrifices, to follow you it takes a large, strong and generous heart. And your Love, which so admirably changed the hearts of your Disciples too, won't mine also change? Yes, oh good Jesus, tell the Holy Spirit to change my heart, and then also gather in me the most pleasing fruits of so many of your pains.

But at the feet of a God who dies on the Cross for all, it is not good to think of oneself alone; no: it is necessary to pray for everyone, and especially for those miserable people to whom the light of the gospel truth has not yet arrived, do not know Jesus, do not know his Love. Remember therefore, or beloved Savior, that one day of having come on earth so that men have life; and the life you have also given to us with your death; but then you added that you wanted to give us this life even more abundantly. I therefore beg you that in addition to that life that you gave us by dying on the cross and destroying our sentence of eternal death, you also give us the superabundance of life by infusing us with your Holy Spirit, the Eternal Love. . truly vital principle and always bearer of precious fruits of true life. But it is not enough for me to ask you for so much grace alone in this way in generating, I want to ask you also in particular; and first for the poor infidels, who do not yet know you; deh! multiply those holy workers who cultivate those wild lands, so that more abundant fruits of eternal life may ripen there. I ask you for all heretics and schismatics, so that you bring them all back into the true Church. I ask you for bad Christians. They were born co-storo in the bosom of life, and run towards the abyss of eternal death! deh, your Love saves them! I then recommend to you the lukewarm Christians, who are in danger of being shipwrecked in the port: stir them up; I recommend to you the fervent ones so that they persevere, I recommend to you your ministers so that all burn with holy zeal. Finally I beg you to increase among us the devotion to that Divine Love which led you to sacrifice yourselves for us on the Cross. Pater, Ave and Gloria.
