A prayer to change the worldly way of thinking

Our minds are so powerful. What do you have in mind right now? A few studies have shown that we can think up to 80.000 thoughts in any given day, and out of those thoughts, 80% of them are negative. Ouch! A better question to ask yourself is: what are you feeding your mind that is ultimately giving you the thoughts you have right now? Your thoughts can dictate your actions. For what you think about, it will push you to take action. Your mind is your container and we must do everything to protect it. We have to be intentional about what we fill our minds. If we are not intentional about what we are allowing, things will naturally fill up as if we only live part of this world. From the moment we wake up, we are inundated with automatic notifications on our phones, computers and televisions. We go to work or to the supermarket, we see people around and signs and billboards on our way. The portals of our mind are our eyes and ears, and sometimes, if we are not aware of them, they are unwittingly filled with things. This is why we must be intentional to guard it, and not just graze through life by filling our minds with things we don't need.

What we see and what we hear will greatly influence our way of thinking. So, having wisdom when it comes to hiring is so important. Today's scriptures remind us to depend on God to transform and renew your mind. It is easy to be molded into the things of this world and it can be done without our knowledge. God can give us a new way of thinking as we renew our minds about Him, the things above, His truths written in His Word and through the power of the Holy Spirit. We allow God to change the way we think as we guard what we are taking. And when we begin to renew our mind about Him and He changes the way we think, we can then please Him through our actions, remembering that everything starts with the mind. Prayer: Dear sir, thank you, Lord, that you have not left us empty-handed. That we have the truth of your word on which to depend to guide us in this world. Father, we ask you to give us your mind. Help us filter everything that comes to mind through your perspective. We want a mind like Christ and we want to be transformed through the renewal of our mind. We ask that the Holy Spirit please reveal to us everything we are hearing as we watch which feeds our minds negative thoughts that we may be unaware of. Please protect our minds and push us in those moments to get rid of everything that is not focused on you. Lord, we ask you to change the way we think. May you please guide us on your path that you have for us. That the voices we hear and the things we focus on would honor you. Help us think of the things above, not the things of this world. (Colossians 1: 3). As your word in Philippians 4: 9 says, remind us to "think of things that are true, noble, righteous, pure, lovely, are good value ... anything worthy of praise, to think about these things." We want to honor you in everything we do. We love you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, Amen
