Gospel of 10 March 2019

Book of Deuteronomy 26,4-10.
The priest will take the basket from your hands and lay it before the altar of the Lord your God
and thou shalt pronounce these words before the Lord thy God: My father was a wandering Aramean; he went down to Egypt, stayed there as a stranger with few people and became a large, strong and numerous nation.
The Egyptians mistreated us, humiliated us and imposed harsh slavery on us.
Then we cried to the Lord, to the God of our fathers, and the Lord listened to our voice, saw our humiliation, our misery and our oppression;
the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a powerful hand and an outstretched arm, spreading terror and making signs and wonders,
and he led us to this place and gave us this country, where milk and honey flows.
Now, behold, I present the firstfruits of the fruits of the soil which you, Lord, have given me. You will lay them before the Lord your God and prostrate yourselves before the Lord your God;

Salmi 91(90),1-2.10-11.12-13.14-15.
You who live in the shelter of the Most High
and dwell in the shadow of the Almighty,
tell the Lord: “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust ”.

The misfortune cannot strike you,
no blow will fall on your tent.
He will order his angels
to guard you in all your steps.

On their hands they will bring you so that you do not stumble your foot on the stone.
You will walk on aspids and vipers, you will crush lions and dragons.
I will save him, because he trusted me;
I will exalt him, because he knew my name.

He will invoke me and answer him; with him I will be in misfortune, I will save him and make him glorious.

Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Romans 10,8-13.
So what does it say? Next to you is the word, on your mouth and in your heart: that is, the word of faith that we preach.
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
In fact, with the heart one believes to obtain justice and with the mouth one makes the profession of faith to have salvation.
In fact, the Scripture says: Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, since he himself is the Lord of all, rich to all who call upon him.
Indeed: Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 4,1-13.
Full of the Holy Spirit, Jesus left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert
where, for forty days, he was tempted by the devil. He did not eat anything in those days; but when they were finished he was hungry.
Then the devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread."
Jesus replied: "It is written: Man will not live by bread alone."
The devil led him up and, showing him in an instant all the kingdoms of the earth, said to him:
«I will give you all this power and the glory of these realms, because it has been put in my hands and I give it to whoever I want.
If you bow down to me everything will be yours. "
Jesus replied: "It is written: Only to the Lord your God will you bow down, only you will worship."
He brought him to Jerusalem, placed him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him: «If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down;
it is written in fact: To his angels he will give order for you, that they may guard you;
and also: they will support you with your hands, so that your foot does not stumble on a stone ».
Jesus replied, "It has been said: You will not tempt the Lord your God."
After exhausting all sorts of temptations, the devil moved away from him to return to the appointed time.
