XIX Sunday of Ordinary Time

First book of Kings 19,4-8.
In those days, Elijah went into the desert for a day's walk and went to sit under a juniper. Eager to die, he said, “Enough now, Lord! Take my life, because I'm no better than my fathers. "
He went to bed and fell asleep under the juniper. Then, behold an angel touched him and said to him: "Get up and eat!".
He looked and saw near his head a focaccia cooked on hot stones and a jar of water. He ate and drank, then went back to bed.
The angel of the Lord came again, touched him and said: "Eat up, because the journey is too long for you."
He got up, ate and drank. With the strength given him by that food, he walked for forty days and forty nights to the mountain of God, the Horeb.

Salmi 34(33),2-3.4-5.6-7.8-9.
I will bless the Lord at all times,
his praise always on my mouth.
I glory in the Lord,
listen to the humble and rejoice.

Celebrate the Lord with me,
let's celebrate his name together.
I looked for the Lord and he answered me
and from all fears he freed me.

Look at him and you will be radiant,
your faces will not be confused.
This poor man cries and the Lord listens to him,
it frees him from all his anxieties.

The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him and save them.
Taste and see how good the Lord is;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians 4,30-32.5,1-2.
Brothers, do not want to sadden the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were marked for the day of redemption.
Let all harshness, indignation, anger, clamor and slander disappear from you with all sorts of malice.
Instead, be kind to one another, merciful, forgiving each other as God has forgiven you in Christ.
So make yourselves imitators of God, as dear children,
and walk in charity, in the way that Christ also loved you and gave himself for us, offering himself to God in sacrifice of sweet smell.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 6,41: 51-XNUMX.
At that time, the Jews murmured about him because he said: "I am the bread that came down from heaven."
And they said: «Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? We know his father and mother about him. How then can he say: I came down from heaven? ».
Jesus replied: «Do not murmur among yourselves.
Nobody can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
It is written in the prophets: And all will be taught by God. Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.
Not that anyone has seen the Father, but only he who comes from God has seen the Father.
Truly, truly, I say to you: whoever believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your fathers ate manna in the desert and died;
this is the bread that descends from heaven, so that whoever eats it will not die.
I am the living bread, descended from heaven. If anyone eats this bread he will live forever and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world ».
