Gospel of 13 July 2018

Friday of the XIV week of the Ordinary Time holidays

Book of Hosea 14,2: 10-XNUMX.
Thus says the Lord: "Go back therefore, Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled upon your iniquity.
Prepare the words to say and return to the Lord; say to him: “Take away all iniquity: accept what is good and we will offer you the fruit of our lips.
Assur will not save us, we will no longer ride on horses, nor will we call the work of our hands our god any more, since the orphan finds mercy near you ”.
I will heal them from their infidelity, I will love them from my heart, because my anger has turned away from them.
I will be like dew for Israel; it will bloom like a lily and take root like a tree in Lebanon,
its shoots will spread and it will have the beauty of the olive tree and the fragrance of Lebanon.
They will return to sit in my shadow, revive the wheat, cultivate the vineyards, famous as the wine of Lebanon.
What does Ephraim still have in common with the idols? I hear him and watch over him; I am like an ever green cypress, thanks to me there is fruit.
Those who are wise understand these things, those who have intelligence understand them; for the ways of the Lord are upright, the righteous walk in them, while the wicked stumble upon you. "

Salmi 51(50),3-4.8-9.12-13.14.17.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your mercy;
in your great goodness erase my sin.
Wash me from all my faults,
cleanse me of my sin.

But you want the sincerity of the heart
and inwardly teach me wisdom.
Purify me with hyssop and I will be world;
wash me and I will be whiter than the snow.

Create in me, O God, a pure heart,
renew a firm spirit in me.
Don't push me away from your presence
and do not deprive me of your holy spirit.

Give me the joy of being saved,
support a generous soul in me.
Sir, open my lips
and my mouth proclaim your praise.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 10,16-23.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: «Behold: I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore be prudent as serpents and simple as doves.
Beware of men, for they will hand you over to their courts and scourge you in their synagogues;
and you will be brought before the governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness to them and the pagans.
And when they deliver you into their hands, don't worry about how or what you will have to say, because what you will have to say will be suggested at that moment:
for it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
The brother will kill the brother and father the son, and the children will rise up against their parents and make them die.
And you will be hated by all because of my name; but whoever perseveres to the end will be saved. "
When they persecute you in one city, flee to another; Truly I say to you, you will not have finished traveling through the cities of Israel before the Son of man comes.
