Gospel of December 14 2018

Book of Isaiah 48,17-19.
Thus saith the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God who teaches you for your good, who guides you on the road you must go.
If you had paid attention to my commands, your well-being would be like a river, your justice like the waves of the sea.
Your descendants would be like sand and born from your bowels like grains of arena; it would never have removed or erased your name before me. "

Psalms 1,1-2.3.4.6.
Blessed is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked,
do not delay in the way of sinners
and does not sit in the company of fools;
but welcomes the law of the Lord,
his law meditates day and night.

It will be like a tree planted along waterways,
which will bear fruit in its time
and its leaves will never fall;
all his works will succeed.

Not so, not so the wicked:
but like chaff that the wind disperses.
The Lord watches over the path of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will be ruined.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 11,16-19.
At that time, Jesus said to the crowd: «To whom will I compare this generation? It is similar to those children sitting on the squares who turn to other companions and say:
We played your flute and you didn't dance, we sang a lament and you didn't cry.
John came, who does not eat or drink, and they said: He has a demon.
The Son of Man has come, who eats and drinks, and they say: Here is a glutton and a drunkard, friend of tax collectors and sinners. But wisdom has been done justice by his works ».
