Gospel of 14 July 2018

Saturday of the XNUMXth week of Ordinary Time

Book of Isaiah 6,1-8.
In the year in which King Ozia died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and elevated throne; the flaps of his cloak filled the temple.
Around him stood seraphim, each had six wings; with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet and with two he flew.
they proclaimed to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of its glory. "
The door jambs vibrated to the voice of the one who shouted, while the temple filled with smoke.
And I said, "Alas! I am lost, because a man with impure lips I am and in the midst of a people with impure lips I live; yet my eyes have seen the king, the Lord of hosts. "
Then one of the seraphim flew to me; he was holding a burning coal which he had taken with the springs from the altar.
He touched my mouth and said to me, "Behold, this has touched your lips, therefore your iniquity has disappeared and your sin is atoned for."
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Who will I send and who will go for us?". And I said, "Here I am, send me!"

Salmi 93(92),1ab.1c-2.5.
The Lord reigns, is cloaked in splendor;
the Lord dresses himself, girds himself with strength.
It makes the world firm, it will never be shaken.

Balance is your throne from the beginning,
you have always been, Lord.

Worthy of faith are your teachings,
holiness befits your home
for the duration of the days, Lord.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 10,24-33.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: «A disciple is no more than the master, nor a servant more than his master;
it is enough for the disciple to be like his master and for the servant like his master. If they have called the landlord Beelzebub, how much more than his family!
Fear them not therefore, for there is nothing hidden which should not be revealed, and of secret which should not be revealed.
Say what in the darkness say it in the light, and what you hear in your ear preach it on the roofs.
And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but have no power to kill the soul; rather, fear the one who has the power to perish and the soul and body in Gehenna.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father wanting it.
As for you, even your head's hair is all counted;
therefore do not be afraid: you are worth more than many sparrows!
Therefore whoever recognizes me before men, I too will recognize him before my Father who is in heaven;
but whoever denies me before men, I too will deny him before my Father who is in heaven ».
