Gospel of November 17 2018

Third letter of Saint John the apostle 1,5-8.
Dearest one, you behave faithfully in everything you do in favor of the brothers, albeit foreigners.
They have testified of your charity before the Church, and you will do well to provide them in the journey in a manner worthy of God,
because they left for the sake of the name of Christ, without accepting anything from the pagans.
We must therefore welcome these people to cooperate in spreading the truth.

Salmi 112(111),1-2.3-4.5-6.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord
and finds great joy in his commandments.
His lineage will be powerful on earth,
the offspring of the righteous will be blessed.

Honor and wealth in his home,
his justice remains forever.
Sprout in the darkness as a light for the righteous,
good, merciful and just.

Happy pitiful man who borrows,
administers his possessions with justice.
He will not waver forever:
the righteous will always be remembered.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 18,1-8.
At that time, Jesus told his disciples a parable about the need to always pray, without getting tired:
“There was a judge in a city who didn't fear God and had no regard for anyone.
In that city there was also a widow, who came to him and said to him: Do me justice against my opponent.
For a time he did not want to; but then he said to himself: Even if I don't fear God and have no respect for anyone,
since this widow is so troublesome I will do her justice, so that she does not continually bother me ».
And the Lord added, "You have heard what the dishonest judge says.
And will God not do justice to his elect who cry out day and night to him, and make them wait long?
I tell you he will do them justice promptly. But when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth? ».
