Gospel of 19 October 2018

Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians 1,11: 14-XNUMX.
Brothers, in Christ we have also been made heirs, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works effectively in accordance with his will,
because we were in praise of his glory, we who first hoped for Christ.
In him you too, after listening to the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation and having believed in it, received the seal of the Holy Spirit that was promised,
which is a deposit of our inheritance, pending the complete redemption of those whom God has acquired, in praise of his glory.

Salmi 33(32),1-2.4-5.12-13.
Rejoice, righteous, in the Lord;
praise befits the upright.
Praise the Lord with the harp,
with the ten-string harp sung to him.

Right is the word of the Lord
every work is faithful.
He loves law and justice,
the earth is full of his grace.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people who have chosen themselves as heirs.
The Lord looks from heaven,
he sees all men.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 12,1-7.
At that time, thousands of people gathered to such an extent that they trampled on each other, Jesus began to say first of all to his disciples: «Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.
Therefore what you have said in darkness will be heard in full light; and what you have said in the ear in the innermost rooms will be announced on the roofs.
To you my friends, I say: Do not fear those who kill the body and afterwards they can do nothing more.
Instead, I will show you who to fear: fear the One who, after killing, has the power to throw into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear this man.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.
Even your hair is all counted. Fear not, you are worth more than many sparrows. "
