Gospel of 20 October 2018

Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians 1,15: 23-XNUMX.
Brothers, having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and of the love you have towards all the saints,
I don't stop giving thanks for you, reminding you in my prayers,
so that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation for a deeper knowledge of him.
May he truly illuminate the eyes of your mind to make you understand what hope he has called you, what treasure of glory his inheritance contains among the saints
and what is the extraordinary greatness of his power towards us believers according to the effectiveness of his strength
which he manifested in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him sit on his right in heaven,
above any principality and authority, any power and domination and any other name that can be named not only in the present century but also in the future one.
In fact, everything has submitted to his feet and has made him head of the Church on all things,
which is his body, the fullness of him who is fully realized in all things.

Salmi 8,2-3a.4-5.6-7.
O Lord, our God,
how big is your name on all the earth:
above the skies your magnificence rises.
With the mouths of babies and infants
you have proclaimed your praise.

If I look at your sky, work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars you have stared at,
What is man because you remember it
and the son of man why do you care?

Yet you did it little less than the angels,
you crowned him with glory and honor:
you gave him power over the works of your hands,
you have everything under his feet.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 12,8-12.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever recognizes me before men, even the Son of man will recognize him before the angels of God;
but whoever denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
Whoever speaks against the Son of man will be forgiven him, but whoever swears the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
When they lead you to synagogues, magistrates and authorities, don't worry about how to exonerate yourself or what to say;
because the Holy Spirit will teach you what to say at that moment ”.
