Gospel of February 24 2019

First book of Samuel 26,2.7-9.12-13.22-23.
Saul moved and went down to the desert of Zif, bringing with him three thousand chosen men of Israel, to search for David in the desert of Zif.
David and Abisài went down among those people at night and Saul was sleeping among the carriages and his spear was driven to the ground at the head of his bed while Abner with the troops slept around.
Abisài said to David: “Today God has put your enemy into your hands. So let me nail it to the ground with the spear in one fell swoop and I will not add the second. "
But David said to Abisai: “Don't kill him! Who ever put their hand on the consecrated person of the Lord and remained unpunished? ”.
So David took away the spear and the pitcher of water that was on the side of the head of Saul and both of them left; nobody saw, nobody noticed, nobody woke up: everyone was asleep, because a numbness sent by the Lord had come upon them.
David went over to the other side and stopped far on the top of the mountain; there was great space between them.
David replied: “Here is the king's spear, let one of the men pass here and take it!
The Lord will render to each according to his justice and his faithfulness, since today the Lord had placed you in my hands and I did not want to stretch out my hand on the consecrated one of the Lord.

Salmi 103(102),1-2.3-4.8.10.12-13.
Bless the Lord, my soul,
how blessed is his holy name in me.
Bless the Lord, my soul,
do not forget many of its benefits.

He forgives all your faults,
heals all your diseases;
save your life from the pit,
crowns you with grace and mercy.

The Lord is good and pitiful,
slow to anger and great in love.
He does not treat us according to our sins,
it does not repay us according to our sins.

How far east is from the west,
thus it removes our sins from us.
As a father takes pity on his children,
so the Lord pities those who fear him.

First letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians 15,45-49.
the first man, Adam, became a living being, but the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
There was first the spiritual body, but the animal body, and then the spiritual.
The first man from the earth is from the earth, the second man is from heaven.
What is the man made of earth, so are those of earth; but as the celestial, so also the celestial.
And as we brought the image of the man of the earth, so we will bring the image of the celestial man.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 6,27-38.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: "To you who listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
To whoever strikes you on the cheek, turn the other also; to those who take off your cloak, do not refuse the tunic.
It gives anyone who asks you; and to those who take yours, don't ask for it.
What you want men to do to you, do it to them too.
If you love those who love you, what merit will you have? Even sinners do the same.
And if you do good to those who do you good, what merit will you have? Even sinners do the same.
And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what merit will you have? Sinners also lend to sinners to receive equally.
Instead, love your enemies, do good and lend without hoping for anything, and your prize will be great and you will be children of the Most High; because he is benevolent towards the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Do not judge and you will not be judged; do not condemn and you will not be condemned; forgive and you will be forgiven;
give and it will be given to you; a good measure, pressed, shaken and overflowing will be poured into your womb, because with the measure with which you measure, it will be measured to you in exchange ».
