Gospel of 24 October 2018

Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians 3,2: 12-XNUMX.
Brethren, I think you have heard of the ministry of the grace of God entrusted to me for your benefit:
as by revelation I was made aware of the above mystery I wrote to you briefly.
From reading what I have written, you can well understand my understanding of the mystery of Christ.
This mystery has not been manifested to men of previous generations as at present it has been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets through the Spirit:
that is, that the Gentiles are called, in Christ Jesus, to participate in the same inheritance, to form the same body, and to participate in the promise by means of the gospel.
of which I became a minister through the gift of God's grace granted to me by virtue of the efficacy of his power.
To me, who am the lowest of all saints, has been granted this grace to announce to the Gentiles the inscrutable riches of Christ,
and to make it clear to everyone what is the fulfillment of the mystery hidden for centuries in the mind of God, creator of the universe,
so that the multifaceted wisdom of God may be manifested in heaven, through the Church, to the Principalities and Powers,
according to the eternal plan that Jesus Christ our Lord has implemented,
who gives us the courage to approach God in full trust through faith in him.

Book of Isaiah 12,2-3.4bcd.5-6.
Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, I will never be afraid,
because my strength and my song is the Lord;
he was my salvation.
You will draw water with joy
at the sources of salvation.

“Praise the Lord, call on his name;
manifest its wonders among peoples,
proclaim that his name is sublime.

Sing hymns to the Lord, because he has done great works,
this is known throughout the earth.
Joyful and exultant shouts, inhabitants of Zion,
because great among you is the Holy One of Israel. "

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 12,39-48.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
“Know this well: if the master of the house knew what time the thief came, he would not let his house be broken into.
You too must be ready, because the Son of man will come in the hour that you don't think ».
Then Peter said, "Lord, are you saying this parable for us or for everyone?"
The Lord replied: "Who then is the faithful and wise administrator, whom the Lord will place at the head of his servitude, to distribute the ration of food in due course?
Blessed is that servant whom the master, on arriving, will find at his work.
Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
But if that servant said in his heart: The master is late in coming, and began to beat the servants and serve them, to eat, to drink and to get drunk,
the master of that servant will arrive on the day he least expects it and in an hour he does not know, and he will punish him rigorously by assigning him a place among the infidels.
The servant who, knowing the will of the master, will not have arranged or acted according to his will, will receive many beatings;
the one who, not knowing it, will have done things worthy of beatings, will receive few. Anyone who was given much, much will be asked; those who were entrusted with much will be asked for much more ».
