Gospel of January 28, 2019

Letter to the Hebrews 9,15.24-28.
Brothers, Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, because, since his death has now intervened for the return of the sins committed under the first covenant, those who have been called receive the eternal inheritance that has been promised.
In fact, Christ did not enter a sanctuary made by human hands, a figure of the real one, but in heaven itself, to appear now in the presence of God in our favor,
and not to offer himself several times, like the high priest who enters the sanctuary every year with the blood of others.
In this case, in fact, he would have had to suffer several times since the foundation of the world. Now, however, only once, in the fullness of time, has he appeared to nullify sin through the sacrifice of himself.
And as it is established for men who die only once, after which comes the judgment,
thus Christ, after offering himself once and for all in order to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, without any relation to sin, to those who await him for their salvation.

Salmi 98(97),1.2-3ab.3cd-4.5-6.
Sing a new song to the Lord,
because he has performed wonders.
His right hand gave him victory
and his holy arm.

The Lord has manifested his salvation,
in the eyes of peoples he has revealed his justice.
He remembered his love,
of his loyalty to the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
Acclaim the whole earth to the Lord,
shout, rejoice with songs of joy.

Sing hymns to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and with melodious sound;
with the trumpet and the sound of the horn
cheer before the king, the Lord.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 3,22-30.
At that time, the scribes, who had come down from Jerusalem, said: "He is possessed by Beelzebub and cast out demons by means of the prince of demons."
But he called them and said to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan?"
If a kingdom is divided in itself, that kingdom cannot stand;
if a house is divided in itself, that house cannot stand.
In the same way, if Satan rebels against himself and is divided, he cannot resist, but he is about to end.
Nobody can enter the house of a strong man and kidnap his belongings unless he has first tied the strong man; then he will pillage the house.
Truly I say to you: all sins will be forgiven the children of men and also all the blasphemies they will say;
but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness: he will be guilty of eternal guilt ».
For they said, "He is possessed by an unclean spirit."
