Gospel of November 29 2018

Revelation 18,1-2.21-23.19,1-3.9a.
I, John, saw another angel descending from heaven with great power and the earth was illuminated by its splendor.
He shouted in a loud voice: “Babylon the Great has fallen, and has become a den of demons, prison of every unclean spirit, prison of every unclean and abhorred bird and prison of every unclean and abhorred beast.
A mighty angel then took a stone as big as a millstone, and threw it into the sea exclaiming: “With the same violence Babylon will fall, the great city and it will never reappear.
The voice of harpists and musicians, flutists and trumpet players will no longer be heard in you; and every craftsman of any profession will no longer be in you; and the voice of the grinding wheel will no longer be heard in you;
and the light of the lamp will no longer shine in you; and the voice of bridegroom and bride will no longer be heard in you. Because your merchants were the great ones of the earth; for all the nations from your sorrows were seduced.
After that, I heard like a powerful voice from an immense crowd in the sky saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation, glory and power are of our God;
because his judgments are true and fair, he condemned the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her prostitution, avenging the blood of her servants on her! ".
And for the second time they said: “Hallelujah! Its smoke rises over the centuries! ".
Then the angel said to me: "Write: Blessed are the guests at the Lamb's wedding banquet."

Psalms 100 (99), 2.3.4.5.
Acclaim the Lord, all of you on earth,
serve the Lord in joy,
introduce yourself to him with exultation.

Recognize that the Lord is God;
he made us and we are his,
his people and flock of his pasture.

Go through its doors with hymns of grace,
his atria with songs of praise,
praise him, bless his name.

Good is the Lord,
eternal his mercy,
his loyalty for each generation.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 21,20-28.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: «When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, know then that its devastation is near.
Then those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, those who are within the city go away, and those in the countryside do not return to the city;
in fact, it will be days of revenge, so that everything that has been written will be accomplished.
Woe to the women who are pregnant and breastfeeding in those days, because there will be great calamity in the country and anger against this people.
They will fall to the sword and be taken prisoners among all peoples; Jerusalem will be trampled on by pagans until pagan times are complete.
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of peoples anxious about the roar of the sea and the waves,
while men will die of fear and waiting for what will happen on earth. In fact, the powers of the heavens will be upset.
Then they will see the Son of man coming on a cloud with great power and glory.
When these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your liberation is near. "
