Gospel of 29 October 2018

Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians 4,32.5,1: 8-XNUMX.
Brothers, be kind to one another, merciful, forgiving each other as God has forgiven you in Christ.
So make yourselves imitators of God, as dear children,
and walk in charity, in the way that Christ also loved you and gave himself for us, offering himself to God in sacrifice of sweet smell.
As for fornication and all sorts of impurities or greed, we do not even speak of it among you, as befits saints;
the same can be said for vulgarities, trifles, triviality: all unseemly things. Instead, give thanksgiving!
Because, know it well, no fornicator, or impure, or stingy - which is idolatrous stuff - will have a part in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Let no one deceive you with vain reasoning: for these things in fact the wrath of God falls upon those who resist him.
So have nothing in common with them.
If you were once darkness, you are now light in the Lord. Therefore, behave like the children of light.

Psalms 1,1-2.3.4.6.
Blessed is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked,
do not delay in the way of sinners
and does not sit in the company of fools;
but welcomes the law of the Lord,
his law meditates day and night.

It will be like a tree planted along waterways,
which will bear fruit in its time
and its leaves will never fall;
all his works will succeed.

Not so, not so the wicked:
but like chaff that the wind disperses.
The Lord watches over the path of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will be ruined.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 13,10-17.
At that time, Jesus was teaching in a synagogue on Saturday.
There was a woman there who for eighteen years had a spirit that kept her sick; she was bent and could not straighten up in any way.
Jesus saw her, called her to him and said to her: «Woman, you are free from your infirmity»,
and laid his hands on her. Immediately she straightened up and glorified God.
But the head of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had performed that healing on Saturday, addressing the crowd said: «There are six days in which one must work; therefore in those you come to be treated and not on the Sabbath day ».
The Lord replied: "Hypocrites, do you not dissolve each of you the ox or the donkey from the manger on Saturday, to lead him to drink?"
And wasn't this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept tied for eighteen years, to be freed from this bond on the Sabbath day? ».
When he said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed, while the whole crowd cheered for all the wonders he had accomplished.
