Gospel of December 6 2018

Book of Isaiah 26,1-6.
On that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: «We have a strong city; he has erected walls and bulwark for our salvation.
Open the doors: enter the right people who maintain faithfulness.
His soul is steadfast; you will assure him of peace, peace because he has faith in you.
Trust in the Lord always, because the Lord is an eternal rock;
because he brought down those who lived above; the sublime city overthrew it, overturned it to the ground, razed it to the ground.
The feet trample it, the feet of the oppressed, the footsteps of the poor ».

Salmi 118(117),1.8-9.19-21.25-27a.
Celebrate the Lord, because he is good;
because his mercy is eternal.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in the powerful.

Open the doors of justice to me:
I want to enter it and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the door of the Lord,
the righteous enter it.
I thank you, because you fulfilled me,
because you have been my salvation.

Lord, give your salvation, give, Lord, victory!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord;
God, the Lord is our light.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 7,21.24-27.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: «Not everyone who says to me: Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Therefore whoever listens to these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
The rain fell, the rivers overflowed, the winds blew and fell on that house, and it did not fall, because it was founded on the rock.
Anyone who listens to these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
The rain fell, the rivers overflowed, the winds blew and they fell upon that house, and it fell, and its ruin was great. "
