Gospel of 6 October 2018

Book of Job 42,1-3.5-6.12-16.
Job answered the Lord and said:
I understand that you can do anything and that nothing is impossible for you.
Who is he who, without having science, can obscure your advice? I have therefore exposed without discernment things too superior to me, which I do not understand.
I knew you by hearsay, but now my eyes see you.
So I look back and I regret it over dust and ash.
The Lord blessed Job's new condition more than the first and he possessed fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels, a thousand pairs of oxen and a thousand donkeys.
He also had seven sons and three daughters.
Colomba was named after one, the second Cassia and the third vial of stibio.
Throughout the earth there were no women as beautiful as the daughters of Job and their father shared them with the inheritance together with their brothers.
After all this, Job still lived a hundred and forty years and saw children and grandchildren of four generations. Then Job died, old and full of days.

Psalms 119 (118), 66.71.75.91.125.130.
Teach me your mind and wisdom,
because I have faith in your commandments.
Good for me if I've been humiliated,
why you learn to obey you.

Lord, I know that your judgments are right
and with reason you humiliated me.
By your decree everything exists to this day,
because everything is at your service.

I am your servant, make me understand
and I will know your teachings.
Your word in revealing illuminates,
it gives wisdom to the simple.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 10,17-24.
At that time, the seventy-two returned full of joy saying: "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."
He said, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Behold, I have given you the power to walk over snakes and scorpions and over all power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Do not rejoice, however, because demons submit to you; rather rejoice that your names are written in the heavens. "
In that same instant Jesus exulted in the Holy Spirit and said: «I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the learned and the wise and you have revealed them to the little ones. Yes, Father, because you liked it this way.
Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father and nobody knows who the Son is if not the Father, nor who the Father is if not the Son and the one to whom the Son wants to reveal him ».
And turning away from the disciples, he said: «Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it. "
