Gospel of 7 July 2018

Saturday of the XIII week of Ordinary Time holidays

Book of Amos 9,11: 15-XNUMX.
Thus says the Lord: «On that day I will raise the hut of David, which has fallen; I will repair the breaches, I will raise the ruins, I will rebuild it as in ancient times,
to conquer the rest of Edom and all the nations on which my name has been invoked, says the Lord, who will do all this.
Behold, days will come - says the Lord - in which whoever plows will meet with whoever reaps and who presses grapes with whoever sows the seed; from the mountains new wine will drip and flow down the hills.
I will bring back the exiles of my people Israel, and they will rebuild the devastated cities and live there; they will plant vineyards and drink wine; they will cultivate gardens and eat their fruit.
I will plant them in their land and they will never be torn from the soil that I have given them. "

Salmi 85(84),9.11-12.13-14.
I will listen to what God the Lord says:
he announces peace
for his people, for his faithful,
for those who return to him wholeheartedly.

Mercy and truth will meet,
justice and peace will kiss.
The truth will sprout from the earth
and justice will appear from heaven.

When the Lord bestows his good,
our land will bear fruit.
Justice will walk before him
and on the way of his steps salvation.

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 9,14-17.
At that time, John's disciples came to Jesus and said to him, "Why, while we and the Pharisees fast, your disciples do not fast?"
And Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guests be in mourning while the bridegroom is with them?" But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them and then they will fast.
Nobody puts a piece of raw fabric on an old dress, because the patch tears the dress and makes a worse tear.
Neither new wine is put into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins are broken and the wine is poured and the lost wineskins are lost. But new wine is poured into new wineskins, and so both are preserved. "
