Gospel of March 12, 2021

Gospel of March 12, 2021: And for this reason Jesus says: 'The greatest love is this: to love God with all your life, with all your heart, with all your strength, and your neighbor as yourself'. Because it is the only commandment that is equal to the gratuitousness of God's salvation. And then Jesus adds: 'In this commandment there are all the others, because that one calls - does all good - all the others'. But the source is love; the horizon is love. If you have closed the door and taken away the key of love, you will not be equal to the gratuitousness of the salvation you have received (Pope Francis, Santa Marta, 15 October 2015).

From the book of the prophet Hosea Hos 14,2: 10-XNUMX Thus says the Lord: "Return, Israel, to the Lord your God,
for thou hast stumbled in thy iniquity.
Prepare the words to say
and go back to the Lord;
say to him, "Take away all iniquity,
accept what's good:
not offered of immolated bulls,
but the praise of our lips.
Assur won't save us,
we will no longer ride on horses,
nor will we call "our god" anymore
the work of our hands,
because with you the orphan finds mercy ”. I will heal them of their infidelity,
I will love them deeply,
for my anger has turned away from them.

Gospel of the day

Gospel of March 12, 2021: according to Mark

I will be like dew for Israel;
it will bloom like a lily
and take root like a tree from Lebanon,
its shoots will spread
and will have the beauty of the olive tree
and the fragrance of Lebanon.
They will return to sit in my shadow,
will revive the wheat,
will blossom like the vineyards,
they will be as famous as the wine of Lebanon. What do I still have in common with the idols, O Ephraim?
I hear him and watch over him;
I am like an ever green cypress,
your fruit is my work. Let him who is wise understand these things,
those who have intelligence understand them;
for the ways of the Lord are upright,
the righteous walk in them,
while the wicked stumble you ».

Gospel of the day March 12, 2021: From the Gospel according to Mark Mk 12,28: 34b-XNUMX At that time, one of the scribes approached Jesus and asked him: "Which is the first of all commandments? " Jesus replied: “The first is: 'Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only Lord; you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength ”. The second is this: "You will love your neighbor as yourself". There is no other commandment greater than these ». The scribe said to him: «You have said well, Master, and according to truth, that He is unique and there is no other than him; to love him with all the heart, with all the intelligence and with all the strength and to love the neighbor as oneself is worth more than all the holocausts and sacrifices ». Seeing that he had answered wisely, Jesus said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And no one had the courage to question him anymore.
