Gospel of March 15, 2021

To believe. Believing that the Lord can change me, that He is powerful: as did that man who had a sick son, in the Gospel. 'Lord, come down, before my baby dies.' 'Go, your son lives!'. That man believed the word that Jesus had said to him and set out on his way. Faith is making room for this love of God, it is making room for the power, the power of God but not the power of one who is very powerful, the power of one who loves me, who is in love with me and who wants joy. with me. This is faith. This is believing: it is making room for the Lord to come and change me ”. (Homily of Santa Marta - March 16, 2015)

From the book of the prophet Isaìa Is 65,17-21 Thus says the Lord: «Behold, I am creating new heavens and a new earth;
will no longer remember the past,
will no longer come to mind,
for he will always enjoy and rejoice
of what I'm going to create,
because I create Jerusalem for joy,
and his people for joy.
I will rejoice in Jerusalem,
I will enjoy my people.

They will no longer be heard in it
voices of tears, cries of anguish.
It will be gone
a child who lives only a few days,
nor an old man that of his days
does not reach fullness,
for the youngest will die at one hundred years old
and who does not reach the hundred years
will be considered cursed.
They will build houses and live in them,
they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. "

From the Gospel according to John Jn 4,43: 54-XNUMX At that time, Jesus left [Samaria] for Galilee. In fact, Jesus himself had declared that a prophet does not receive honor in his own country. So when he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, because they had seen everything he had done in Jerusalem during the feast; in fact they too had gone to the party.

So he went again to Cana of Galilee, where he had changed the water into wine. There was an official of the king who had a sick son in Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, because he was about to die. Jesus said to him: "If you do not see signs and wonders, you do not believe." The king's official said to him, "Sir, come down before my baby dies." Jesus answered him, "Go, your son lives." That man believed the word that Jesus had said to him and set out on his way.

Just as he was descending, his servants met him and said: "Your son lives!" He wanted to know from them at what time he began to feel better. They said to him: "Yesterday, an hour after noon, the fever left him." The father recognized that at that very hour Jesus had said to him: "Your son is alive", and he believed him with all his family. This was the second sign that Jesus made when he returned from Judea to Galilee.
