Today's Gospel November 10, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of St Paul the apostle to Titus
Tt 2,1: 8.11-14-XNUMX

Dearest, teach what conforms to sound doctrine.
Older men are sober, dignified, wise, steadfast in faith, charity and patience. Even elderly women have a holy behavior: they are not slanderers or slaves of wine; rather, they should know how to teach good, to form young women in the love of husbands and children, to be prudent, chaste, dedicated to the family, good, submissive to their husbands, so that the word of God is not discredited.

Encourage even the youngest to be prudent, offering yourself as an example of good works: integrity in doctrine, dignity, sound and irreproachable language, so that our adversary will be shamed, having nothing bad to say against us.
In fact, the grace of God has appeared, which brings salvation to all men and teaches us to deny impiety and worldly desires and to live in this world with sobriety, with justice and with piety, waiting for blessed hope and the manifestation of glory of our great God and savior Jesus Christ. He gave himself up for us, to redeem us from all iniquity and to form for himself a pure people who belong to him, full of zeal for good works.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 17,7-10

At that time, Jesus said:

«Which of you, if he has a servant to plow or pasture the flock, will say to him, when he comes back from the field: 'Come immediately and sit at the table'? Wouldn't he rather say to him: "Prepare a meal, tighten your clothes and serve me, until I have eaten and drunk, and then you will eat and drink"? Will he be grateful to that servant because he carried out the orders he received?
So you too, when you have done all that has been ordered to you, say: “We are useless servants. We did what we had to do ”».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
How can we understand if we really have faith, that is, if our faith, even if tiny, is genuine, pure, straightforward? Jesus explains it to us by indicating what the measure of faith is: service. And he does so with a parable that at first glance is a bit disconcerting, because it presents the figure of an overbearing and indifferent master. But precisely this way of acting of the master brings out what is the true center of the parable, that is, the attitude of availability of the servant. Jesus wants to say that this is how the man of faith is towards God: he submits himself completely to his will, without calculations or claims. (Pope Francis, Angelus of 6 October 2019)
