Today's Gospel 11 September 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the first letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Corìnzi
1Cor 9,16: 19.22-27b-XNUMX

Brothers, proclaiming the Gospel is not a boast for me, because it is a necessity that is imposed on me: woe to me if I do not proclaim the Gospel! If I do it on my own initiative, I am entitled to the reward; but if I do not do it on my own initiative, it is a task that has been entrusted to me. So what is my reward? That of proclaiming the Gospel freely without using the right conferred on me by the Gospel.
In fact, despite being free from all, I made myself the servant of all in order to gain the greatest number; I did everything for everyone, to save someone at any cost. But I do everything for the Gospel, to become a participant in it too.
Don't you know that, in stadium races, everyone runs, but only one wins the prize? You too run in order to conquer it! However, every athlete is disciplined in everything; they do it to get a crown that withers, we instead get one that lasts forever.
I therefore run, but not as one who is aimless; I box, but not like those who beat the air; on the contrary, I hardly treat my body and reduce it to slavery, so that after having preached to others, I myself am disqualified.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 6,39-42

At that time, Jesus told his disciples a parable:
"Can a blind man lead another blind man?" Won't they both fall into a ditch? A disciple is no more than the teacher; but everyone, who is well prepared, will be like his teacher.
Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye and don't notice the beam that is in your eye? How can you say to your brother, “Brother, let me take out the speck that's in your eye,” while you yourself don't see the beam that's in your eye? Hypocritical! First remove the beam from your eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
With the question: "Can a blind man lead another blind man?" (Lk 6, 39), He wants to emphasize that a guide cannot be blind, but must see well, that is, he must possess the wisdom to guide with wisdom, otherwise he risks causing damage to the people who rely on him. Jesus thus draws the attention of those who have educational or leadership responsibilities: shepherds of souls, public authorities, legislators, teachers, parents, exhorting them to be aware of their delicate role and to always discern the right path on which lead people.
