Today's Gospel November 13, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the second letter of St. John the apostle
2 Jn 1a.3-9

I, the Presbyter, to the Lady chosen by God and her children, whom I love in truth: grace, mercy and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, in truth and love . I am very happy to have found some of your children who walk in the truth, according to the commandment we have received from the Father.
And now I pray to you, O Lady, not to give you a new commandment, but the one we had from the beginning: that we love one another. This is love: to walk according to his commandments. The commandment you learned from the beginning is this: Walk in love.
In fact, many seducers have appeared in the world who do not recognize Jesus who came in the flesh. Behold the deceiver and the antichrist! Pay attention to yourself so as not to ruin what we have built and to receive a full reward. Whoever goes further and does not remain in the doctrine of Christ does not possess God. On the other hand, whoever remains in the doctrine possesses the Father and the Son.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 17,26-37

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:

“As it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of man: they ate, drank, married, took in husband, until the day when Noah entered the ark and the flood came and killed them all.
As was also the case in the days of Lot: they ate, drank, bought, sold, planted, built; but on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and killed them all. So it will happen on the day when the Son of man will manifest.
On that day, whoever finds himself on the terrace and has left his things at home, should not go down and get them; so whoever is in the field does not go back. Remember Lot's wife.
Whoever tries to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses it will keep it alive.
I tell you: that night, two will find themselves in the same bed: one will be taken away and the other left; two women will be grinding in the same place: one will be taken away and the other left ».

Then they asked him: "Where, Lord?". And he said to them, "Where the corpse is, there will the vultures also gather together."

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
Thinking about death is not a bad fantasy, it is a reality. Whether it is bad or not bad depends on me, as I think it is, but that there will be, there will be. And there will be the encounter with the Lord, this will be the beauty of death, it will be the encounter with the Lord, it will be He who will come to meet, it will be He who will say: Come, come, blessed by my Father, come with me. (Pope Francis, Santa Marta of 17 November 2017)
