Today's Gospel October 15, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians
Eph 1,1: 10-XNUMX

Paul, apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus believers in Christ Jesus: grace to you and peace from God, our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heaven in Christ. In him he chose us before the creation of the world to be holy and immaculate before him in charity, predestining us to be adopted children for him through Jesus Christ, according to the loving plan of his will, to praise the splendor of his grace. , of which he gratified us in the beloved Son. In him, through his blood, we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, according to the richness of his grace. He poured it out on us in abundance with all wisdom and intelligence, making us know the mystery of his will, according to the benevolence that was proposed in him for the government of the fullness of times: to lead back to Christ, the only head, all things, those in heaven and those on earth.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 11,47-54

At that time, the Lord said, “Woe to you who build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. Thus you testify and approve the works of your fathers: they killed them and you build. For this reason God's wisdom said: "I will send them prophets and apostles and they will kill and persecute them", so that this generation is asked to account for the blood of all the prophets, shed from the beginning of the world: from the blood of Abel to to the blood of Zaccharia, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be asked for an account. Woe to you, doctors of the Law, who have taken away the key of knowledge; you did not enter, and you prevented those who wanted to enter. " When he had gone out of there, the scribes and Pharisees began to treat him in a hostile way and to make him speak on many subjects, setting traps for him, to surprise him in some words that came from his own mouth.

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
Even Jesus seems a bit bitter against these doctors of the law, because he tells them strong things. He tells him strong and very hard things. 'You took away the key of knowledge, you did not enter, and those who wanted to enter you prevented them, because you took away the key', that is, the key to the gratuitousness of salvation, of that knowledge. (…) But the source is love; the horizon is love. If you have closed the door and taken away the key of love, you will not be worthy of the gratuitousness of the salvation you have received.
