Today's Gospel October 16, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians
Eph 1,11: 14-XNUMX

Brothers, in Christ we have also been made heirs, predestined - according to the plan of him who works everything according to his will - to be the praise of his glory, we who have already hoped in Christ before.
In him you too, after hearing the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation, and believing in it, you received the seal of the Holy Spirit that was promised, who is the pledge of our inheritance, awaiting complete redemption. of those whom God has acquired for the praise of his glory.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 12,1-7

At that time, thousands of people had gathered, to the point that they were trampling each other, and Jesus first began to say to his disciples:
«Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. So what you have said in the darkness will be heard in full light, and what you have said in the ear in the innermost rooms will be announced from the terraces.
I say to you, my friends: do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after this they can do nothing more. I will show you instead of whom you must be afraid: fear the one who, after killing, has the power to throw into Geènna. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Even the hair on your head is all numbered. Do not be afraid: you are worth more than many sparrows! ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
"Do not be afraid!". Let us not forget this word: always, when we have some tribulation, some persecution, something that makes us suffer, we listen to the voice of Jesus in our hearts: “Do not be afraid! Don't be afraid, go ahead! I am with you!". Do not be afraid of those who mock you and mistreat you, and do not be afraid of those who ignore you or honor you "in front" but "behind" the Gospel fights (...) Jesus does not leave us alone because we are precious to him. (Angelus June 25 2017
