Today's Gospel November 19, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the book of the Apocalypse of Saint John the Apostle
Rev 5,1: 10-XNUMX

I, John, saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne, a book written on the inside and on the outside, sealed with seven seals.

I saw a strong angel shouting in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book and undo its seals?" But nobody, neither in heaven, nor on earth, nor under the earth, was able to open the book and look at it. I cried a lot, because no one was found worthy to open the book and look at it. One of the elders said to me: “Don't cry; the lion of the tribe of Judah, the Sprout of David, has conquered and will open the book and its seven seals. "

Then I saw, in the middle of the throne, surrounded by the four living beings and the elderly, a Lamb, standing as if sacrificed; he had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent to all the earth.

He came and took the book from the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. And when he had taken it, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders bowed down before the Lamb, each having a lyre and golden bowls full of perfumes, which are the prayers of the saints, and they sang a new song:

“You are worthy to take the book
and to open its seals,
because you were slain
and redeemed for God with your blood
men of every tribe, tongue, people and nation,
and you made them, for our God,
a kingdom and priests,
and they will reign over the earth. "

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 19,41-44

At that time, Jesus, when he was near Jerusalem, at the sight of the city wept over it saying:
«If you too had understood, on this day, what leads to peace! But now it has been hidden from your eyes.
Days will come for you when your enemies will surround you with trenches, will besiege you and will crush you on all sides; they will destroy you and your children within you and they will not leave stone upon stone in you, because you did not recognize the time you were visited ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
"Even today in the face of calamities, of wars that are made to worship the god of money, of so many innocents killed by the bombs that throw down the worshipers of the idol of money, even today the Father cries, also today he says: 'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, children mine, what are you doing? ' And he says it to the poor victims and also to the arms traffickers and to all those who sell people's lives. It will do us good to think that our Father God became man to be able to cry and it will do us good to think that our Father God weeps today: he cries for this humanity that does not stop understanding the peace He offers us, the peace of love " .
